Bread Upma


Ever thought of preparing upma with humble bread. Well try today, the best thing is that it can be prepared in a jiffy in 5-6 minutes.

Bread Upma

Ingredients

Bread packet 1
Onions 2, chopped
Tomatoes 2, chopped
Carrots 2, chopped
Capsicums 1, grated
Green chillies 3-4, slit
Fine sev ¼ cup
Red chilli powder (lal mirch powder) ¾ tsp
Garam masala powder ½ tsp
Turmeric powder (haldi) ½ tsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) ½ tsp
Mustard seeds (rai) ½ tsp
Curry leaves 2 sprigs
Coriander leaves (dhania leaves) 1 bunch, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking

Method

Cut the bread slices into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds (jeera), mustard seeds (rai) and curry leaves, let it sputter. Now add the onions, capsicums and green chillies. Fry till the onion turn transparent, now add the tomatoes and cook till the oil starts leaving the sides. Add red chilli powder (lal mirch powder), garam masala powder and turmeric powder (haldi) and fry for few more minutes.

Now add the bread cubes and mix well so that the masala gets coated well with the bread pieces. Add salt and mix once again. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves (dhania leaves), grated carrot and sev, serve hot.
