Beetroot Halwa / Beet ka Halwa


Indians love halwa’s most in desserts. So why not go bold and try beetroot halwa also known as beet ka halwa today.

Beetroot Halwa / Beet ka Halwa


Category- Vegetarian

Ingredients

Beetroot grated 2 cups
Sugar 1 ½ cup
Milk ½ lt (boiled and cooled)
Cardamom powder (elaichi powder) ½ tsp
Cashew nuts 8-10 nos
Fresh cream (malai) 1 cup
Ghee 2 tbsp

Method

Heat ghee in thick bottomed vessel. Now add the grated beetroot. Stir and cook it for 7-10 minutes. Add milk, fresh cream (malai), sugar nad cook for some more time till all the milk gets absorbed. Finally add Cardamom powder (elaichi powder), Cashew nuts. Serve hot or cold.
