Bread Halwa / Bread Ka Halwa

Ever thought of making sumptuous halwa of simple bread. It is a nutritious low fat dessert, one can add to its nutrient value by adding nuts.

Bread Halwa / Bread ka Halwa

Milk bread 1 pkt
Ghee 2 cup
Cardamom (Elaichi) 10 nos
Almonds 20 nos
Cashew nuts 20 nos
Sugar 2 cups
Milk 1 lt


Remove the sides of the bread and tear it into small pieces. Heat ½ portion of ghee in a pan and fry the bread pieces till they are grown. Grind cardamom (elaichi) with ½ portions of almonds and cashew nuts. In another vessel heat milk and let it simmer now when the bread turns brown, pour the milk over it and add the remaining ghee. Let it cook over low flame. Now, add the grinded dry fruits and cook till the halwa leaves sides. Transfer it in a serving bowl and garnish with the remaining dry fruits. Serve hot or cold.
