Malai Matar Paneer

One of the most delectable Indian curries it is loaded with cottage cheese, peas with generous dose of fresh cream. Yummy!

Malai Matar Paneer

Category- Vegetarian


Paneer cubes 250 gms
Frozen peas 2 cups
Fresh cream ½ cup
Cashew nuts (kaju) 15-20 broken
Coriander leaves (dhania leaves), 1 small bunch chopped
Tomatoes 2
Red onions 2
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Garam masala 1 tsp
Cardamom (elaichi) 3-4
Red chilli powder (lal mirch powder) 1 tsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) 1 tsp
Oil for cooking
Salt to taste
Ghee 1 tsp


Grind the tomatoes, onions, ginger garlic paste, garam masala and cardamom (elaichi). In heavy bottomed pan heat oil add the cumin seeds (jeera) and add the prepared paste. Cook for 8-10 minutes till the water evaporates and the oil starts leaving the sides. Add the peas, cover it with lid and cook for 5 more minutes. Mean while sauté the paneer in oil and keep aside. Fry the cashew nuts (kaju) in ghee. Add cream to the curry and cook for 10-15 minutes over low flame. Finally add the paneer, cashew nuts (kaju), chopped coriander leaves and salt mix well and serve.
