Sprouted Moong ki Khichadi

 A lip smacking healthy recipe!

Sprouted Moong ki Khichadi



Rice 250 gms
Carrots 1/2 cup cut into 1 inch sizes
Cauliflower ½ cup cut into small florets
Green chillies 3-4 nos (slit)
Ghee 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) 1 tsp
Cinnamon (dal chini) stick 1 inch
Turmeric powder (haldi powder) ½ tsp
Crushed pepper corns ½ tsp
Sprouted whole green gram (whole moong) 1 ½ cup
Salt to taste
Water for cooking


Wash rice and soak it for 30 minutes. Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds (jeera). Once they have tempered add cinnamon stick, turmeric powder ½ tsp, pepper corns and green chillies. Stir it for a while. Now add the carrots and the cauliflower florets mix and cook it for another 3-4 minutes occasionally stirring.

Drain water from the rice, add to the vegetables and stir, now add salt add 3 cups water. Bring the water to boil and add the sprouted moong (whole moong), reduce the flame and cook till the rice is done. Keep stirring the rice. Serve hot.
